I use a few simple technical rules to help me achieve the results that produce meaningful and expressive images. I use “fast” lenses that take advantage of available light and require minimal use of flash units. Ambient light flatters the subject and also serves to keep skin tones looking soft and natural. I use my telephoto lens as much as possible as this allows me to shoot from a distance without drawing attention away from subjects. Wide apertures compress the depth of field and draws attention to the subjects in the image. Wide-angle lenses are a favorite for shooting candid photos in the dynamic atmosphere of a reception.

My ultimate goal is to create photographic images that capture the emotion and love felt between a bride and groom on their wedding day. A tangible reminder to the couple of the chemistry that took place on the day they were married.
